There is overwhelming information on the internet related to depression. Lot of misunderstanding is created due to this over-information. In the last 3 years the patients that came to me for depression counselling sessions were giving me all kinds of information they read on the internet about depression.
Their minds were filled with unnecessary assumptions and doubts. I am wondering that on one hand science is in the process of breaking superstitions and on the other hand the same science is installing superstitions.
Therefore, breaking the myth about depression is more important now. My friend, I want you to delete this thought from your mind that depression is some kind of disease. This is the biggest myth and you must break it.
Depression is a condition. In other words, it is the suppression of various expressions. It is a mental condition which one can overcome. I am assuming that before coming to this blog you must have read many blogs and articles on depression.

Human mind enters into overthinking mostly after some kind of life experiences. Various situations of life activate thoughts and emotions which are stored in memory. The game of overthinking begins in your memory.
Past experiences are triggered from memory. Then imagination is induced in those experiences. This develops assumptions. When this chain of assumptions is expanded, you have entered into overthinking mode.
You jump from one assumption to another. This goes on and on. It is called overthinking. When it comes to depression there are two possibilities:
Overthinking can lead you to cause depression
Post you enter into depression it triggers overthinking
So either your depression might have come via overthinking or your depression might have activated your overthinking zone.
No matter whatever is the case, rest assured that you can stop overthinking. For this you will have to train your mind. With specific tools and practices you can learn how to stop overthinking.
For now I want you to bring your attention towards overthinking depression. My friend, if you constantly feed your mind 1TB or 2TB or 100TB of information about depression, it will only increase your memory storage and nothing else.

Guarantee has to be a mutual process. If you guarantee me that you will implement the following tips sincerely for the next 45 days, I guarantee you that you will learn to overcome depression with ease.
Tip #1 - Change your belief
One of the biggest challenges to overcome depression is personal belief related to depression. Too much brooding over depression will not help you. Time has come for you to change your belief now.
First belief that you have to change is about your own self. If you have negative beliefs about yourself then it's time to change it. Holding a negative belief about your own self will never help you to overcome depression.
Second belief you have to change is about depression. Yes! If you believe that depression cannot be cured then this belief has to change right now. Depression is curable.
Tip #2 - Do not get influenced
Those who are unable to cure depression are influenced by their own negative thoughts and other peoples negative thoughts. If you are following too many peoples’ advice, then you are confusing your own mind.
Everyone has different opinions about everything. When you get influenced by too many people’s advice, your mind will end up in frustration mode. You will become more indecisive. Hence, this will stop you from coming out of depression. So instead of getting negatively influenced by other people, calm down yourself.
With a calm mind you will be able to make proper decisions. This will help you in your journey to overcome depression with ease.
Tip #3 - Learn to stop overthinking
Overthinking is the biggest hook for depression. When you constantly go on thinking mode about your sadness, problems, life issues it will loop you into extreme negative thoughts. These negative thoughts are fueled with negative emotions.

Tip #6 - Reset your life goals
I have discovered that a couple of my patients were unable to come out of depression because they failed to reset their life goals. You had created a few goals in life but they were unsuccessful in achieving their goals. This was another reason why they were depressed.
You may have failed in achieving your goals hence it is better to reset your goals. Create short term goals right now until you are in depression and work on achieving those. With short term goal success you will get more motivation to create new long term goals. You will also be inspired to achieve those goals.
Hence, right now do not worry about your failures, come up with a new list of goals. I suggest you begin with minimum 1 and maximum 3 goals for the next 6 to 12 months. Right now your first goal should be focused on overcoming your depression. With that you add a maximum of 2 more goals and begin your journey.
Tip #7 - Enable your trust
Trust plays a very important role in your healing process. Whether it is to stop overthinking or to come out of depression you will have to enable your trust at 2 levels:
Self - Means you have to trust yourself first. If you do not trust yourself, then overcoming depression will become very tough for you. Hence, trust yourself.
Treatment - Next, you have to establish your trust in the treatment that you are going to take. When you trust your treatment process, it will help you heal faster.
Therefore, it is time for you to activate your trust as soon as possible. With enabling trust you will experience a 360 degree change in your healing process. Overthinking will reduce naturally.
A lot of time overthinking is also due to lack of trust. When you do not trust yourself and your treatment, then it generates too many negative thoughts in your mind. Your mental health is affected due to lack of trust. So my friend, let me reassure you that you can overcome depression and stop overthinking. I trust you. Hence, you also start trusting yourself.
Tip #8 - Take depression test
At this point I want to share some real facts regarding some of the patients who came to me for depression counsellings. Before starting any session I always ask my patients whether they have done any kind of depression test or not.
Now, why I am sharing this with you is because these patients went online and read many articles about depression symptoms. They assume that they have depression just by reading articles on the internet.
